Perth International Airport Long Term Carpark

Project Outline

The demand for this facility, comes from significant growth in both domestic and international passenger numbers at Perth Airport.

The vision for the expansion of the existing international terminal was first announced by Perth Airport Pty Ltd (PAPL) (the owners and operators of Perth Airport) in May 2008. The PAPL’s vision for redevelopment, included the consolidation of intrastate, domestic and international services around the existing international precinct.

The Cree Edge High Output flood lights were used in place of the traditional metal halide flood lights which offered both an energy and maintenance cost savings for the client. The characteristics of the fitting and true white technology enabled the facility to adhere to Perth Airport’s strict lighting standards. With the luminaires omitting 0% spill due to being orientated directly downwards. No spill is a major requirement for lighting in airspace zones.

The Cree LEDway used along Airport drive continues the theme from the Gateway Link being the first major LED street lighting trial for Main Roads Western Australia.

The high light levels and colour rendition produced by the luminaires provides security for patrons of the airport. Patrons can be confident leaving their vehicles in a well-lit carpark, as a result of these clever luminaire choices.
